Taylor Swift had to disappoint many of her fans on Friday when she announced that her remaining Lover Fest tour dates would be canceled.
The 31-year-old singer-songwriter shared the bad news with a statement posted on her website and her social media accounts.
She originally postponed some of her summer 2020 dates to 2021 in hopes of continuing to perform, but the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has made it impossible.

Many other artists have canceled their shows until 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, although some have followed Taylor’s original path of only postponing dates.
In the early months of the pandemic, Ticketmaster only provided refunds for events that were canceled, while people with tickets to postponed shows were unlucky.
The ticket seller admitted later in the spring and allowed some venues to arrange refunds for deferred shows, although not all venues were willing to give people their money back for deferred events.
