Between Miss Americana, folk tradition, always, and her recorded hits, Taylor Swift really gave 2020 her musical everything. The only thing the singer could not give to fans was his Lover concert tour, in support of the titular 2019 album. The tour was scheduled to start in April last year and last until August. The tour has been postponed after the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States. Like thousands of her fellow musicians, Swift remains hopeful that she will eventually be able to reschedule the concerts. On Friday, however, the singer announced that her postponed concerts had been officially canceled. Swift writes, “I’m so sorry.”

“I would love to come here to tell you good news, or to share a new project with you,” the singer said tweeted in a statement Friday. ‘It’s not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell news I’m sad about. I’m sorry, but I can not reschedule the programs we have postponed. Although there have been refunds available since we posted the Lover Fest shows, many of you have hung on to your tickets and I too to the idea that we could plan again. “

“This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the tourism environment will look like in the near future,” Swift continues. ‘I’m so disappointed I could not see you in person once I wanted to. I missed you terribly and can not wait until we can all be safe together at shows again. ‘
