Taylor Swift breaks records in Australia

According to ARIA, the 17 weeks that separate always first summary and the debut of Fearless (Taylor’s version) sets the record for the shortest time frame between different albums to reach the highest point, and passes Swift’s own mark of 20 weeks between her last two LPs.

Three tracks from it affect the single this week, led by “Mr. Perfectly Fine (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault) “, new at No. 19.

Swift’s score of eight number 1 albums places her second on the female solo artists’ charts, just behind Madonna (with 11). She also puts one release behind Eminem (9) for the consecutive number 1s.

On the latest ARIA album chart, Justin Bieber Justice (Def Jam / Universal) drops 1-2, while veteran Australian artist Richard Clapton at no. May 3 Music Is Love (1966-1970) (Bloodlines / Universal), a collection of reports from classic songs by The Doors, Neil Young, The Band and more. This is an all-time top for Clapton, whose last album to hit the 1993 main chart Far thunder, with a peak of number 37.

After its release on vinyl, Ariana Grande’s Positions (Universal) returns to the upper level. It is at number 5, which previously peaked on November 2.

British hip-hop outfit Brockhampton drops a third Top 10 with Roadrunner: New light, new machine (RCA / Sony). It is new at number 6 and is expected to be released later in 2021 with another album. Brockhampton also reached the Top Ten with Iridescence (No. 6 in October 2018) and Save (No. 3 in September 2019).

On the ARIA singles chart, Justin Bieber goes a second week at number 1 with ‘Peaches’ with Daniel Caesar and Giveon, while Lil Nas X’s controversial ‘Montero (call me by your name)’ (Columbia / Sony) 3- 2, for a new highlight.

Shortly behind is Polo G’s “Rapstar” (Columbia / Sony), which gives the American rapper his first ARIA Top 10. This is new on number 4.

Finally, Doja Cat and SZA make a warm arrival with their collaboration “Kiss Me More” (RCA) and come in at number 10.
