What a time to be a Taylor Swift fan: While Fearless (Taylor’s version) makes its No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200, making it her third new No. 1 album in less than a year. Swift is literally in the studio recording another album.
“I’ve been in the studio all day and recording the next one – it’s really so amazing what you all did here,” Swift wrote on Sunday (April 18) as she tweeted again and responded. Billboard‘s report that her readmission of Fearless according to MRC Data at number 1 with 291,000 equivalent album units earned in the US in the week ending April 15th.
More than 12 years after Swift released her first number 1 album on the Billboard 200 with the original Fearless, the new Fearless (Taylor’s version) became her ninth number 1. And among the performances, it is the only number 1 album of its kind: a recording of an artist’s (own or another) album previously released.
