The White House Coronavirus Task Force warned about the possibility that there would be more transferable Covid-19 variant developed in the USA.

The new strain, in addition to the variant found in Britain, is already spreading in communities and could be 50 percent more transmissible, according to a report released to the states by the US media on January 3rd.

The task force said the recent increase in business was almost twice the pace seen in the spring and summer seasons, the Xinhua news agency quoted the report as saying.

“This acceleration suggests that there may be a ‘US variant’ that has developed here, in addition to the British variant that is already spreading in our communities and is 50 per cent more transmissible,” the report reads, asking that aggressive mitigation be consistent. a much more aggressive virus.

Scott Gottlieb, the former commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, told CNBC News on Friday that the new tribe that found the Task Force appears to be like the one circulating in the UK.

The latest development took place as the country identified a total of 52 cases from the British coronavirus according to data updated Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC).

Twenty-six cases have been reported in California, 22 in Florida, two in Colorado and one each in Georgia and New York.

The variant first identified in Britain appears to be spreading easier and faster than other variants.

According to the CDC, there is currently no evidence that it causes serious illness or increased risk of death.
