Tampa Bay Buccaneers bring back Shaquil Barrett on $ 72 million deal for four years, says agent

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Shaquil Barrett have agreed on a $ 72 million four-year deal that will allow the star to succeed the reigning Super Bowl champion, agent Drew Rosenhaus told Adam Schefter, ESPN.

According to Rosenhaus, the deal is $ 36 million fully guaranteed. The escalator also includes escalators – associated with pocket and playoff games – that could increase Barrett’s annual earnings, a source told ESPN’s Jenna Laine.

Barrett played under the $ 15.8 million franchise label last season, scoring eight bags in 15 games, and he led the NFL with 74 hits, according to ESPN Stats & Information. The former Pro Bowler was recently named the ninth best available free agent by ESPN.

Barrett excelled during the championship race in Tampa Bay, scoring three bags in the NFC championship game and another in Super Bowl LV to play along with his four hits on Chiefs fullback Patrick Mahomes.

Barrett, 28, has 41.5 sacks, 15 forced fumbles and 266 tackles in 92 games over the seven seasons over seven seasons. He led the NFL with 19.5 sacks in 2019.
