In an era of online gaming, and despite the success of GTA Online, Rockstar is still strongly committed to the single player experience.
Despite the last entry in the series appearing in 2013, we have not yet heard any official information about GTA 6, but Rockstar has hinted at its existence, and this tip is no different.
Rockstar is still committed to single player games
GTA Online is an extremely successful property for Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive, with revenue from the games up 28% per year.
During a merit call earlier this week, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick explained that the plan for GTA 5 and Online was to always release as a single-player game and then add multiplayer later, which they did.
“The people at Rockstar Games have been planning to create a powerful single-player experience and a story-driven experience … and have been developing a massive multiplayer event in recent years.”
Even with a shift in the industry towards multiplayer games instead of just single player experiences, Take-Two still believes in single player games,

CTA V took the company to new heights and generated $ 1 billion in revenue in the first three days. It has sold more than 140 million copies, while GTA Online generates more than $ 700 million a year.
Both institutions set new sales and activity records in 2020, showing that the CTA brand is not slowing down.
Despite the fact that Online earns more than $ 700 million a year, Rockstar and Take-Two will have to go crazy to turn their revenue on the core of GTA games.
In a best case scenario, where each copy was purchased for $ 60, GTA V would have generated $ 8.4 billion in revenue to date, which is no small change.
GTA: Wild West Edition, or Red Dead Redemption 2, as it is also known, has sold more than 36 million copies.
While not as popular, it is highly regarded as one of the best single player experiences to date.
It is highly unlikely that Rockstar will ever stop developing GTA games for single players, even if the Online aspect performs well.
It is therefore safe to say that GTA 6 will be a single player game like the previous entries.
