Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim shows the reporter’s highlight during the post – match press conference

Syracuse’s men’s basketball coach, Jim Boeheim, apparently did not learn from the outburst Mike Krzyzewski got from Duke from his own incident when he got into an altercation with a student reporter earlier this season.

Boeheim found himself in hot water after Wednesday night’s 64-54 win over Clemson. The legendary basketball coach criticized the height of a reporter after a question during his availability in the media.

Matthew Gutierrez of The Athletic asked a question about the ‘defensive growth’ of Quincy Guerrier and Alan Griffin, according to USA Today.

“I think they’re getting better, they’re still making mistakes and that’s normal,” Boeheim replied.

“I think our whole team got better, but it was not as good as we needed it all year. I think we got better as a team. I think it’s hard to “Going 9-7 in this league. It’s a tough league. Very difficult. I think these guys did a great job this year.”

But when the director of media relations goes to the next question, Boeheim has one more remark.

CREIGHTON COACH MCDERMOTT APOLOGY FOR ‘PLANTING’ NOTE

“But if I had played Jesse (Edwards) and Kadary (Richmond), we would probably be 22-2 now. I just did not see it, I could not figure it out myself after 45 years. I needed a reporter to find out who has never played basketball and is 5-foot-2. ‘

The apparent hostility appears to stem from a tweet Gutierrez sent earlier this week, according to ESPN. He wrote that Syracuse ‘will be somewhere around 17-5’ instead of 16-8 and on the bubble to make it to the NCAA Tournament.

Gutierrez tweeted on Tuesday he and the coach were “all good” after a conversation over the tweet.

Krzyzewski was criticized earlier this year for stalking a student reporter. However, the two parties would compensate after the Duke coach apologized.
