Switching to a Pixel 5 is faster than Google’s mindful ‘video

Made by Google released a video on Friday on “how to convert to the new Google Pixel” that definitely wants to be fun.

Switching to a new Google Pixel is very clear and easy. But calming the mind can take a little longer. Get comfortable and allow this simple meditation to get your new Pixel going, and relax your mind.

It is filled with picturesque recordings, soothing sounds and a very cold narrator. At a high level, you are guided through basic steps such as inserting your SIM card, turning on the Pixel and connecting it (via USB-C or Lightning) to the phone you are replacing.

That’s basically all you need to do, but this video is longer than four minutes and twists. (On a personal note, it’s been so long since changing the playback speed to 2x in YouTube does absolutely nothing to make the video run faster.)

Follow a few simple directions on your Pixel screen, let the Pixel take care of everything from here, and leave our usual instinct for control, because the Pixel carries your apps, selfies and messages on a gentle breeze of zeros and one of your old phone to your new one. Do not try to understand what it does, and do not worry if you have thousands of latte photos or a six-hour documentary about rain. It will all happen faster than you think.

It surprisingly acknowledges people’s tendency to ‘want to push the Back’ button when the process goes on and on.

Your mind may be wondering, get it all? Do I have to press the Back button? Look, pay attention, relax. The Pixel does what it’s designed to convey to you. You can not confuse it as long as you trust the process and rely on yourself.

Either way, this video about the switch will definitely make you talk about Pixel afterwards, so Google has achieved what it wanted to do.
