Swiss Watch Maker debuts $ 30,800 Apple Watch clone with mechanical charging wheel

Back in 2016, when the Apple Watch was still a relatively new device, Swiss watchmaker H. Moser & Cie got an excellent mechanical Apple Watch clone called the Swiss Alp Watch, with a rectangular watch with curved, round edges , a crown on the side, and Apple Watch-style lugs.

H. Moser & Cie today launched a sequel to the original Swiss Alp Watch and unveiled the $ 30,800 Swiss Alp Watch “Final Upgrade”, which according to the company is a highlight in the Swiss Alp Watch saga.

With the same rectangular design as the Apple Watch and the original Swiss Alp Watch, the final upgrade was created after a customer of H. Moser & Cie suggested the design. The DLC steel case has a Vantablack disk, and for those unfamiliar with Vantablack, it is considered one of the darkest known substances, absorbing up to 99.965 percent of the visible light.

Instead of a traditional second hand, the final upgrade includes an Apple Watch-style charging icon, which of course makes for fun on the Apple Watch. H. Moser plays the theme of simplicity and ‘less is more’ in the marketing material.

‘No updates needed, no bad autonomy, no unnecessary features, no annoying notifications, just the only reminder you ever need: to turn you off from all the noise and cherish every moment’, reads a description of the clock.

The loading wheel, or “colored disc made of openings” is meant to “serve as a reminder that the here and now are all that matters.”

The final upgrade of the Swiss Alp Watch is completely mechanical with a 100% Swiss manufacturing movement and a 96 hour power reserve. H. Moser & Cie has created just 50 of the Final Upgrade watches, with more information on the company’s website.
