Suspect detained after three fatal Kenosha bar shootings

According to police and news reports, Wisconsin police fired detainees early in the morning at a Kenosha bar that left three dead.

The Kenosha County sheriff said Sunday night that he was a “person of interest” in the deadly shooting at the Somers House Tavern around 1 p.m.

Police did not identify the suspect, but the arrest follows an hours-long hunt for the shooter.

The unnamed suspect is being held on one charge of first-degree murder, and according to Kenosha News, additional charges are expected to be pursued.

Authorities initially said two other victims were injured in the incident, but sheriff’s sheriff. According to David Wright, three injured people were identified and taken to hospital. He said there could be a fourth.

The three people who were shot dead have not been identified.

Wright said police conducted a number of interviews with bar visitors and checked the footage of the scene after the incident.

Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth said Sunday there was an altercation in the bar and the gunman was kicked out – just minutes later with a gun back.

“I believe there was a kind of confrontation inside,” the sheriff said. “The management asked that person to leave and then the person came back for a short while and shot people.”

“We believe our suspect knew who he was targeting,” Beth said.

One witness told Kenosha News that there was a shooting.

The deadly incident comes after a result of mass shootings in the US, including the death of eight people in a FedEx warehouse in Indianapolis on Thursday.
