Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Leak reveals the popular character cut out before the release

A new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leak appeared on the conversion word of a recently cut character that was in development for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite game, but was cut before release. The leak comes from an anonymous user on the Japanese forum, 5ch, who is usually not worth paying attention to, but the leak accurately leaked both Hero and Steve before being revealed as DLC characters.

According to the leak, Chun-Li from street fighter fame was in development before the game’s release in 2018, but at some point this work was scrapped and Sora, Bandai Namco and Nintendo took the foundation of this work and turned it into Ken, who was introduced as a new character .

At the moment, it is unclear why Chun-Li was deleted and turned into Ken. The leker does not say. Both are quite popular, but after Ryu you can argue that Chun-Li is the next most popular and recognizable Street Fighter character, which makes the ax of hers even more confusing. That said, since Ken is basically an echo fighter from Ryu, that means his implementation was probably a lot less work, and that could play an important role in the decision.

Of course, all of the above assume that the leak in question is not only accurate, but completely accurate. For now, consider everything here with a grain of salt that none of it is official.

At the time of publication, Nintendo and co. has not commented on this leak in any capacity, and is unlikely to change given Nintendo’s strict ‘no comment’ policy regarding leaks. However, if any comments are made, we will make sure the story with everything provided, no matter what is said.
