© NintendoNPD sales tracking data revealed Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Wrath experienced a strong start in the US in terms of sales. In the launch month of February, the game was crowned as the best-selling game and the second best-selling game of 2021. It especially does not include digital sales.
Here it is in the words of NPD analyst, Mat Piscatella. The best-selling contest of the year so far is the latest Call of Duty.
“Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is the best-selling game of February. The title has also been named the second best-selling game of 2021 to date, despite the lack of digital sales for Nintendo-published titles.”
Remember, no sales figures were provided. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal crossing: new horizons was also in the top ten top sellers of February 2021.
Super Mario 3D World seems to be just as successful in other regions. In Japan, the game was launched on the charts in the first place and is estimated to sell 250,000 physical copies in the first few days. In the UK, sales were reportedly 190% higher than the Wii U original, and the game is rated as the fastest-selling version of 2021.
