Soccer fanatics will have to play a bit of defense to enjoy a safe Super Bowl this Sunday, according to the new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
According to the federal agency, virtual viewing parties or outdoor gatherings are the safest way to capture the big game during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sports addicts are reminded to wear masks, maintain social distance, avoid overcrowded and poorly ventilated indoor spaces and wash their hands to ‘make small gatherings safer’.
But if you’re going to a meeting with members outside your household, the CDC warns against ‘shouting, cheering or singing’ while the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Clap, stamp your feet, or rather bring (or provide) soundmakers by hand,” the agency said in its updated guidelines for ‘small gatherings’.
And do not forget about the usual play day buffet – the CDC advises partygoers to bring “your own food, drinks, plates, mugs, accessories and spice packs.

Public Health Professor Jay Wolfson of the University of South Florida told the Tampa Bay Times that everyone present should know the ingredients for a ‘responsible’ Super Bowl event. ‘
“Wear the mask, especially if you have social distance with people you do not live, wash your hands, wear disinfectant and use common sense,” he said.
Put in the discipline this year so that your family and friends can enjoy it better next year and beyond without the remnants of COVID.
“We need it. We deserve it,” Wolfson said of the Super Bowl. “Let’s not make it the last thing we ever do.”
