Konami has revealed that Super Bomberman R Online, the Super Bomberman R expanse that was previously exclusive to Google Stadiums, will soon be coming to Switch and other consoles.
This inspiration from Bomberman R, as you may remember, was actually a Nintendo Switch launch title, and this battle royal game first appeared on Stadia last September. A Switch release date has not yet been announced, though we have been told to expect it soon and that it will be a free-to-play digital title.
Here is an overview if you need to get up to date:
While Bomberman returns with the game that made the franchise a classic party game – blow through battlefields, find hidden power generation and use it to blow enemies away – the action in SUPER BOMBERMAN R ONLINE breaks to new heights with the ‘Battle 64 ”mode. With an original Battle Royale experience, up to 64 players are spread across 16 starting battlefields. As the levels are cleared and the players turned off, the number of battlefields continues to shrink until the final battle to be the last bomber.
SUPER BOMBERMAN R ONLINE offers more than 100 customizable feature combinations, including numerous costumes, accessories and, for the first time, bomb skins – affecting the bomb as well as the explosion. Players can further differentiate themselves from the rest with the optional Premium Pack, which gives access to 14 additional bomber characters that pay homage to classic KONAMI IPs like Gradius, Silent Hill, Castlevania and more!
We’ll be watching more news about this release in the coming weeks, but until then let us know if you would like to investigate it on Switch with a comment.
