Devin Booker knew he was hitting a thriving three-point jumper as soon as the ball left his extended right hand on Monday night.

Booker, who finished the night with 24 points in his first game after an absence of four games against an injury, would be right in his assessment.

That jump shot put the Suns ahead 109-108 at home to the Dallas Mavericks by another 1.5 seconds.

Booker’s shot would be the winning basket, as the Suns would secure their second win over the Mavericks in three days.

The shooting guard’s match winner put up an up-and-down shooting performance of 9 for 19 that helped the Suns return several times during the final quarter of the game.

Booker ended Monday’s game with four three-pointers on eight attempts and, along with fellow guard Chris Paul, hit a quartet of shots from behind the arc to secure the victory.

The heroic deeds of Booker who played late helped the Suns improve their record for the year to 11-8, limiting the coverage of the two teams’ three-game series for the season.

It all came to its dramatic conclusion with a balanced shot that only cleared the outstretched arms of Josh Richardson, guard of Mavericks.

It was a shot that hit nothing but just, giving Suns fans a reason to celebrate Monday night.
