Sun Destroys Wizards 134-106 – Bright Side Of The Sun

Without Bradley Beal, the Washington Wizards attempted three consecutive wins against the Phoenix Suns.

A slow start for the Suns kept the game close until the second half of the game. The Suns were ghosts on defense, but sharpened matters and looked like the Suns we know to achieve the 134-106 victory.

Good defense led to a better attack for the Suns, especially in a third quarter they outscored the Wizards 44-24.

Devin Booker led the Suns with 27 points and Deandre Ayton was again very good with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both were great in the third, and neither of them played in the fourth quarter.

Game flow

The shots that did not fall Thursday night against the Los Angeles Clippers began to fall from the tip for suns.

A quick 10-2 run to start the game prompted the Wizards to call a timeout.

After the timeout, the Wizards were able to come in and put together an 8-0 run to level the game. You started to see signs of life from Alex Len in the paint and the defense low for the Suns was not strict.

When we started the game 0-6 from three, it seemed like the Suns had learned their lesson and started to get to the edge and get into their midfield game and to the edge.

The Suns’ first endurance put them down 17-14. The Wizards were 15-4 and adjustments had to be made.

It was good to see Dario Saric make his first input off the bench, but the Suns had big problems with the big men of the Wizards, but Saric was able to start the game 2-2 in the paint.

At the end of the first quarter, the Suns bench was able to keep the game close behind Saric, but still 29-27 behind. The Wizards were able to outsmart the Suns 20-14.

To kick off the second quarter, Suns fans were blessed with the presence of The Ringers – Kevin O’Conner.

… but the Wizards could still get to the edge to take their lead even further in the second quarter: 37-34

Cameron Johnson starts the game solid and hits all three of his shots off the field, including a dunk at transition and three.

Going in, as mentioned earlier, is still too easy. Big wizards are in the paint without a body up. It was no big deal for Deandre Ayton to try on defense or offense.

… then a solid rebound and dunk by Ayton.

A timeout is called and the Suns are 46-42.

Robin Lopez, who scored a good number in the last game against the Golden State Warriors, is a good replacement for Len. The hook goes in for Lopez and Raul Neto already has 13 points with the Wizards with 49-48.

Mikal Bridges took on the responsibility of helping with Neto, hoping to slow down the little guy. (little for a basketball player)

Jae Crowder finishes the half with a try to give the Suns a 57-55 lead at halftime.

Bridges attacked the edge to start the second half with two layouts to push the Suns’ lead to seven. More energy from the Suns coming out of the locker room.

In the blink of an eye, the Suns rose 16 points, 75-59. The shots fell, the plays on the edge were made on both sides of the floor and the defense picked up a lot of juice.

The Suns feel it from three in the third, everything that goes up goes in.

Not once, but twice for Booker with brilliant long reflections.

The game looked in good hands in the fourth quarter as the Suns starters took care of business and did what they had to do to hide the game.

Booker was just amazing in the limited minutes of this game. He felt it, and it probably had something to do with it:

With 22 points in the fourth quarter, it was time for the bank to complete the task.

And they did, after Paul and Bridges left the game, the bench was able to continue playing the game the Suns started.

An outstanding win for the Suns now puts the Suns at 37-15 on the year.
