Summit County reported 126 new cases of COVID-19 over the week, according to the country’s coronavirus website.

The total number of cases among residents amounts to 3 403. Two new hospitalizations among residents were reported over the week, bringing the total number to 132 since 5 March 2020.

On the state’s COVID-19 hard drive, the province remained within yellow level despite the incidence and positivity rates climbing orange and red.

Summit County officials expected to hear from the state on Wednesday that the country was moving to orange again, but that did not happen. If the province does hear from the state, officials plan to protest the protest, citing the end of the spring break and the reduced tourism on the horizon.

According to the state switchboardthe province reported 177.6 new cases per 100,000 people as of 16:00 on Friday. The number is 12.9 cases per 100,000 people lower than last week and falls orange.

The province’s positivity rate – the percentage of tests that are positive – is now 9.7%, which is 0.5 percentage points higher than last week and falling in the orange level. Although the rate is higher than last Friday, it is lower than the higher rates that were in the red level earlier this week.

The county’s hospitalization data remain within the blue level on the dashboard, with 14 days of decline or stable hospitalizations.

The state’s hard drive is expected to expire in mid-April, handing over restrictions to provincial officials, making it clear that some restrictions are likely to remain.

Assistant County Manager Bentley Henderson, on Thursday at the Health Assembly Council, said businesses are pushing the province to consider alternative measures for restrictions, including weighing issues like hospitalizations more than cumulative incidents.

Vaccines

According to the province’s website, 51% of residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, of which 27% have been fully vaccinated. Of the residents aged 70 and older in the province, 73% were vaccinated.
