Summit County reported 95 new cases and 12 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in the past week, according to the country’s coronavirus website.

As of Friday, February 19, the total number of cases was 2,929 and 126 residents have been admitted to the hospital since March 5th.

All three of the country’s statistics are dropping yellow or better on the COVID-19 switch as of Friday. The province’s average incidence of one week was 255 cases per 100,000 people, which was 51.6 cases lower than last week.

The province’s positivity rate – the percentage of positive tests out of the total tests – was 6.3% according to the dashboard. This is 2.3% lower than last week.

The county’s hospitalization data fall within 13 days of stable or declining hospitalizations within the blue level.

If the numbers stay in level yellow or lower for seven consecutive days, Summit County will be able to move to level yellow constraints, making most things possible at 50% capacity.

The province’s five – star certified businesses are already running a yellow capacity. If the province officially moves to yellow level, all businesses can operate under yellow restrictions.

Vaccinations

Summit County officials continued to receive a low amount of vaccines over the past week, with only 300 doses sent to providers in the country.

Summit County Public Health ordered the maximum amount of 2,000 doses next week, Public Health Director Amy Wineland said at a Health Council meeting Thursday, February 18th. However, the number is not guaranteed.

The province has also updated the way people report for vaccinations through public health. People can now pre-register with CoMassVax.org, which will put them on a list that the country uses to randomly select those who are eligible.
