Summit County reports 4 hospitalizations over the week, 122 COVID-19 cases

According to the county’s coronavirus website, Summit County reported 122 COVID-19 cases and four hospitalizations among residents during the week.

The total number of positive cases among residents is now at 2,834 and 114 people have been admitted to hospital with the virus.

Since Colorado switched to Dial 2.0, which views COVID metrics at an average of one week rather than two weeks on average, the number in the country has remained at orange or lower level.

As of Friday, February 12, the country’s incidence of one week was 306.6 new cases per 100,000 people, which was 70.4 cases lower than last week. The number falls within orange on the dial. To be within the lower yellow level, it must be 300 or lower.

The province’s one – week positivity rate – the percentage of positive tests out of the total tests – was 8.6% on the slide, according to the switchboard. The number is 2.2% higher than last week and falls on the rotary knob at the yellow level.

The province’s hospitalizations remain the most promising data point. According to the dashboard, the province reports 11 days of stable or declining hospitalizations, which fall within the yellow level on the slide.

Vaccines

Vaccination providers in Summit County received approximately 616 vaccines to administer during the week to people 65 and older, educators, health care workers, and first responders.

At a Health Assembly meeting on Thursday, February 11, Amy Wineland, director of public health, said the country had ordered 2,000 vaccinations for next week. However, it is unlikely that the province will receive so many doses.
