Suburb in the Houston area, The Woodlands, the city no. 1 stayed in the US

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KTRK) – The Woodlands, the 28,000-acre master-planned community north of Houston, has topped Niche’s list of the best cities in America over the past few years. Now, for the first time ever, it occupies the first place.

Niche, an online platform that helps people choose schools and places to live, announced on March 15 that The Woodlands will appear at number 1 on its 2021 list of the best cities to live in America. The Woodlands were second and fourth in 2019 last year.

Niche generates rankings by combining data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and by seeking millions of reviews from residents. Among the ranking factors that Niche considers are affordability, housing market, neighborhood diversity, public schools and walkability.
