The Dow Jones Industrial Average averaged 148 points, or 0.47%, while the S&P 500 rose 0.09% and the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.3%.

In a 50-49 vote, the Senate approved its own version of Biden’s $ 1.9 billion bill, limiting $ 1,400 checks to those earning $ 75,000 a year or less and removing, among other things, a minimum wage of $ 15 . The U.S. House of Representatives will vote on the measure on Tuesday.

The passage of the bill through the upper chamber sparked concerns about inflation, and the ten-year treasury yield sent just above 1.60% before falling back to 1.58%.
