Stock contracts indicate record highs at the opening clock

US stock futures contracts showed small gains during the opening clock as the major averages wanted to extend their record highs.

Dow Jones Industrial Futures gained 61 points, or 0.18%, while S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq futures advanced 0.13% and 0.1%, respectively. The early gains come a day after the Dow climbed above 34,000 for the first time and closed the S&P 500 at its own record high.

In equities, Morgan Stanley closed the reporting on the earnings of the major banks with a knock on the top and bottom line, fueled by the transaction unit.

Elsewhere in earnings, logistics management provider JB Hunt Transportation Services Inc. reported earnings and revenue that exceeded Wall Street estimates despite disruptions caused by speed bumps and winter storms.

Meanwhile, DraftKings Inc. selected as one of the official sports betting partners of the NFL, allowing it to display content on the league’s website and app.

The producer of alcoholic beverages, Brown-Foreman Corp., has announced that CFO Jane Morreau will leave the company on July 1st. She will be replaced by current senior vice president Leanne Cunningham, who has been with the company for more than 25 years.

In commodities, West American crude oil rose 1 cent to $ 63.47 a barrel and gold rose $ 12 to $ 1,778.80 an ounce.

Overseas markets have risen across the board.

The DAX 30 in Germany increased the rise in Europe and rose by 0.79%, while the British FTSE 100 and the French CAC 40 rose by 0.5% and 0.3% respectively.

In Asia, China’s China’s Shanghai index rose 0.81% after government data showed the country’s economy grew 18.3% in the first quarter. Elsewhere in the region, the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index rose 0.61% and the Japanese Nikkei 225 rose 0.14%.
