Steve Martin told his fans on Sunday that he had good and bad news to share with them.
The 75-year-old actor taken to Twitter to say he received the COVID-19 vaccine and wrote, “Good news / bad news. Good news: I just got vaccinated! Bad news: I got it because I’m 75. Ha!”
“The operation in NYC was smooth as she was (sorry about the cliché @ BCDreyer!) And was perfectly presented by the U.S. Army and national guard,” he continued. “Thank you to everyone and thank you for the science.”
A fan wrote back to Martin after announcing the news, asking, ‘How did you get the chance, where did you sign up? We can find no place for my 83-year-old mother-in-law who lives in NYC. ”
“I signed up ON-line via a NYC dot gov website (sorry, I did not have the exact website), and waited in line at the Javits Center,” he replied.
The actor shared one last tweet, in response to a now-removed tweet from a fan with his iconic humor: “At the moment, I have no number of resects.”
Early last week, Martha Stewart also got the vaccine and on Monday night shared a video of how she got the shot in her arm.
