Steve Martin Sunday revealed on Twitter that he received the COVID-19 vaccine, which called the overall process ‘smooth as she’.
“Good news / bad news. Good news: I just got vaccinated! Bad news: I got it because I’m 75. Ha! Martin told his 8.7 million followers.
‘The operation in NYC was smooth as she was (sorry about the cliché @ BCDreyer!) And was perfectly presented by the U.S. Army and National Guard. Thank you to everyone and thank you science, ”the actor continued.
When he was pushed by a fan about how he received the vaccine because they were struggling to get one for an older family member Martin said he signed up online and also waited in line.
“I signed up ON-line via a NYC dot gov website (sorry I don’t have the exact website), and waited in line at the Javits Center,” Martin explained.
He later wrote“There are no resects at the moment.”
According to the CDC, some side effects have been linked to COVID-19 vaccines, including pain and swelling in the arm where a patient received a shot.
Martin is not the only star recently vaccinated in New York. Last week, Martha Stewart confirmed that she had received the COVID-19 vaccine, and documented it on social media.
“I was vaccinated today in a designated vaccine case near the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai Downtown,” the 79-year-old posted on Instagram at the time.
Like Martin, Stewart also waited in line.
“To allay your concerns about the fact that I jumped, know that I am in the approved age group for this group of vaccines and that I have been waiting in line with others,” Stewart said.
