The 32-year-old finished the game with 26 points and scored a three-pointer with just over a minute left to stem the team’s 14 deficit in the final quarter.
The Warriors, who struggled in the first half, managed to hang on despite LeBron James saving the game almost for the Lakers at the buzzer.
“We stayed calm. The second unit was surprising over both halves,” Curry told ESPN after the game.
“We gained momentum in the second half to give us a chance and carry us down.”
The Lakers looked dominant early in the game and led by as many as 19 points in the first quarter.
But the Warriors came back in the second half and ended a five-game winning streak for the Lakers.
James, who finished on 19 points, felt his team was doing hard.
“I think we only had a few difficult interruptions in the second half, which slowed down our pace,” he said after the game. “We could not get back into rhythm.”
Durant and Harden shine for the Nets
Elsewhere in the NBA, the Brooklyn Nets squeaked 125-123 in a thriller through the Milwaukee Bucks.
Kevin Durant, who finished on 30 points, scored a late three-pointer to clinch the victory for his team.
Nets new star James Harden was also in impressive form, finishing with 34 points, becoming the first player to score 30 points in his first two games in Nets history.
“He attracts a lot of attention,” Nets coach Steve Nash said of the impact the All-Star has had eight times.
“Either way, he definitely makes us a better team offensive, and he’s amazing to read the game with the ball in his hands. It’s a luxury to have, and we’ll be right in him get shape and he’I’ll be even better. ‘
