Steelers terminate Nelson’s contract

The Steelers ended cornerback Steve Nelson’s contract after two seasons in black and gold.

Nelson, who played six seasons in the NFL, signed with the Steelers in 2019 as an unlimited free agent of the Kansas City Chiefs.

He steps right into the series and starts all 30 of the 30 games he has played in two seasons. Nelson ended the 2020 season with 48 tackles, including 43 tackles, nine defenses, two losses for loss and a fumble recovery. He also had two interceptions, both of which were against the Philadelphia Eagles when he selected Carson Wentz twice.

In his two seasons with the Steelers, he had 109 tackles, 17 defenses, three interceptions, two tackles for a loss and two hamlets.
