State launches provisional timeline for COVID-19 vaccinations

(WXYZ) – The Department of Health and Human Services in Michigan has announced a preliminary timeline for COVID-19 vaccinations in the state.

They vaccinated with critical health workers in December 2020 and then switched to long-term care residents and staff.

On Monday, the state moved to phase 1B of vaccinations that included frontline workers, first responders, teachers and those 65 and older.

According to the timeline, other essential frontline workers and people between the ages of 16-64, Phase 1C, could occur by May and last until late summer and early fall.

Thereafter, the state said that all remaining essential workers would be vaccinated, which could start by the end of the year by July, and eventually Phase 2 is someone 16 years or older who could start by August.
