Starbucks aims to reduce water consumption in coffee supply by 2030

said on Monday that by 2030 it would halve water use in its supply chain by taking various steps, including the purchase of 600 “eco-mills” that reduced water consumption by 80% in places like Guatemala and Mexico where it was installed. ; and improvements to water processing machinery and technology he already owns. By 2030, the chain also wants to reach its target for carbon-neutral green coffee by 2030. Starbucks will equip farmers with tools that will reduce fertilizer use; promotes varieties that are climate-resistant and rust-resistant, which can grow more coffee on the same amount of soil; and promote and restore forests affected by coffee farming, from Peru and Colombia.
