Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Gets Next Generation Update on PS5, Xbox Series X

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order received a major update on Tuesday that raises frame rates and resolutions through backwards compatibility on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The free update was announced in a news release from Electronic Arts.

Today’s update includes the following console-specific upgrades:

Xbox Series S

  • Window speed increased to 60 fps (from 45 fps)

Xbox Series X Performance Mode

  • Frame rate increased to 60 fps
  • Dynamic resolution added in the range of 1080p to 1440p

Xbox Series X Normal Mode (Non-Performance Mode)

  • Post-processing has been increased to 4K
  • Dynamic resolution between 1512p and 2160p

PlayStation 5

  • Window speed increased to 60 fps (from 45 fps)
  • Post-processing increased to 1440p
  • Dynamic resolution is disabled and the game is rendered at 1200p (compared to 810-1080p)

Developed by Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall, Apex Legends), False order is a third-person action-adventure game set in the early days of the Empire. Command 66 has been issued, which requires the killing of every living Jedi in the galaxy. Players assume the role of surviving Cal Kestis, who must learn the martial arts of his order as he fights back against fascism. The game was critical as well as commercial success and sold far more units than expected.
