Star Wars Battlefront 2 is the free version of the Epic Store next week • Eurogamer.net

And Crying Suns is currently free.

Epic Store’s weekly video game-free games continue, and next is DICE’s spacecraft Star Wars Battlefront 2, which can be downloaded for free from Thursday, January 14th.

Star Wars Battlefront 2’s highly anticipated launch in 2017 is, of course, forever tainted by the controversy surrounding its pay-to-win revenue and outside systems – both of which are so critically acclaimed that publisher EA and DICE have finally reversed the course and dramatically made progress of the game. system and rather move to cosmetic transactions only.

With the completion of the changes, it was much easier to appreciate the strengths of the DICE shooter, who, as Eurogamer’s Martin Robinson noted in his initial review, was always able to make some brilliant moments of action, despite the unnecessary hassle. “If it clicks into place … there is nothing left,” he wrote, “and all the drama and dubious decisions made elsewhere should not obscure DICE’s incredible achievements.”

The developer continued to build on the solid core of Battlefront 2, if it got a little messy, in the ensuing years – adding new maps and multiplayer modes, and finally getting a decent, pleasing Star Wars skirt liver, despite the disastrous launch.

Epic’s freebie – the Celebration Edition of Battlefront 2 – includes all the additions to the launch, as well as all cosmetic content previously available as in-game purchases, up to and including those released as part of the Rise of Skywalker update of the game.

Players can add Star War Battlefront 2’s Celebration Edition for free to their Epic Store libraries for one week starting next Thursday, January 14th. Before that, Tactical Scientific Rogue Crying Suns can be downloaded for free in the store.
