‘Star Wars’ adds new droid stamps to US Postal Service

The United States Postal Service and Lucasfilm will work together to release 10 new “Star Wars” character stamps to promote education.

  • The new stamps – which will be launched in the spring – are part of Lucasfilm’s new commitment to science, technology, engineering and maths projects.

What seals are there?

Droids are the center of the new stamps. The available stamp options include:

  • IG-11.
  • R2-D2.
  • K-2SO.
  • DO.
  • L3-37.
  • BB-8.
  • C-3PO.
  • A GNK (or Gonk) power droid.
  • 2-1B surgical droid.
  • C1-10P, commonly known as ‘Chopper’.

Why are they being released?

The “Star Wars” stamps are released in collaboration with “Star Wars: Force for Change” – which promotes education among the “Star Wars” community – and the worldwide non-profit organization “FIRST” (for inspiration and recognition of science and technology).
