‘Star Wars’ actress Trisha Noble dies at 76

Trisha Noble, who appeared in two ‘Star Wars’ movies, has died after a battle with mesothelioma, reports the Daily Mail. She was 76.

Noble died on January 23, according to the Daily Mail, days before her 77th birthday from complications of a tumor caused by inhaled asbestos fibers.

In the ‘Star Wars’ franchise, Noble Jobal Naberrie, the mother of Padmé Amidala was played by Natalie Portman. She appeared in 2002’s “Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones” and 2005’s “Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.” However, her scenes were reportedly cut from the final Episode II version and appear only on DVD extras.

The Aussie, born as Patricia Ann Ruth Noble, had her start in the TV series “Bandstand” and eventually had a pop music career, performing as Patsy Ann Noble in the UK and USA in the 1960s. She also starred as Sergeant Rosie Johnson in the police drama “Strike Force.”

She later moved back to Australia and played Miss Jacobs / Mrs. Crown in 2017’s Australian production of “Ladies in Black”, reports the Daily Mail.
