They were reportedly informed by the Department of Fish and Wildlife that Semlers had never obtained the necessary licenses to house such exotic creatures – such as giraffes, zebras, etc. – and as such they were accused of falsifying records to to obtain. permits to do so.
As a result, Dakota, who owns / manages the place, is allegedly charged with maintaining an animal facility or a wild animal without a license. Her father – who apparently owns Stanley himself – is allegedly accused of providing false information about his application for Stanley’s limited species permit with the CDFW.
