Although Google Stadiums no longer has its own game development studios, it will still release exclusive games. The next one to hit the platform is Q-Games’ PixelJunk Raiders.
The latest entry in the long-running PixelJunk series is an action-adventure game. You will play as a mercenary with the aim of rescuing Planet Tantal from alien forces. You need to look for weapons and resources.
PixelJunk Raiders is a roguelike, so it will look different every time you play. It contains procedure-generated environments filled with settlements, underground canteens, gorges and monolithic temples, and the world will evolve as you explore it. Q-Games drew inspiration from British science fiction cartoons from the 1970s and Jean Giraud’s Moebius while building this world.
The game supports Stadia’s State Share feature, which enables asynchronous multiplayer play. Your shared game states will contain towers, traps, and devices you have placed so that other players can explore the world exactly as you left it.
PixelJunk Raiders will arrive at Stadia on March 1 and costs $ 20. Stadia Pro subscribers can claim it for free.
