St. Joseph announces that fewer vaccine doses will be awarded next week

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – St. Joseph Heath, the organization that supplies the Brazos Center vaccination center, announced Friday that they will receive only 2,000 first doses and 1,000 second doses for the week of February 8th.

In the first week of operation, center officials vaccinated more than 4,500 people, hoping to give 5,000 shots a week for the next few weeks.

Some people who are going to the St. Joseph website reported to get their recordings, is notified by email that their appointments for the week of February 15th are being rescheduled. Anyone who has an appointment for Tuesday afternoon 9 February, Wednesday 10 February or Thursday 11 February can expect to see an email informing them that they will be moving to next week.

St. Joseph also said in a press release that everyone who is in for their second vaccination in St. Joseph Health MatureWell, Bryan Hospital or College Station Hospital, plan to reschedule their email. St. Joseph emphasizes that people do not panic about missing the window for a second time, and says that many people will still be inside the window as set out by the CDC.

Any volunteers planning for shifts next week should also take note of these changes.

St. Joseph admits it’s disappointing news to hear and they were hoping they would get the same amount as this week, but they have to rely on the state for award.
