Square (SQ), Tesla Motors (TSLA), Twitter (TWTR) – Jack Dorsey NFT sale of very first Tweet secures $ 2.5 million bid on auction expiration

Square Inc. (NYSE: SQ) and Twitter Inc. (NYSE: TWTR) CEO Jack Dorsey’s first tweet offered at the auction as an unusable sign received a prominent bid of $ 2.5 million at the end of the set deadline.

What happened: The leading bid of 1630,58 Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) was created by Bridge Oracle CEO Sina Estavi. ETH traded 0.3% higher at $ 1,789.68 at the time of going to press.

The second biggest bid comes from Justin Sun, the founder of Tron (CRYPTO: TRON) and the current CEO of Rainberry, Inc. Sun and Estavi were engaged in a war offering that raised the price from $ 363,000 to $ 2.5 million.

Dorsey said earlier that he intends to convert all the proceeds of the auction Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and send the funds to Give Directly’s Africa Response, which provides cash assistance to families living in extreme poverty in Kenya, Rwanda, Liberia and Malawai.
The entrepreneur said he would accept offers until March 21.

Why it matters: Dorsey’s first Twitter message was made in March 2006 and within minutes of the executive tweeting earlier this week, it received a $ 88,888.88 bid.

A tweet by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Ing (NASDAQ: TSLA), also attracted a $ 1.12 million bid by Estavi. The tweet contains Musk’s announcement that he sold a song as NFT on NFT.

The entrepreneur later changed his mind about selling the song, which also sparked interest from artist Beeple, who offered Musk $ 69 million for the NFT.

Sun also participated in a Christie’s auction where Beeple sold his artwork called ‘The First 5000 Days’, but he was offered $ 250,000 by another buyer in the last 20 seconds.

Beeple revealed on Sunday that the successful bidder was a person from Singapore who paid $ 69 million for the art. The artist said NFT art is “absolute” in a bubble.

Price action: Square shares closed nearly 0.2% higher at $ 224.84 on Friday and fell 0.15% in the after-hours session. On the same day, Twitter shares closed nearly 0.7% lower at $ 66.23 and fell 0.12% in the after-hours session.
