As gematsu noted, three new Square Enix brands have emerged in Japan. The company submitted the words “Ever Crisis”, “The First Soldier” and the logo for the Shinra Electric Power Company. Square Enix had already applied for all three brands in December 2020. According to Chizai Watch, all three Square Enix brands are classified under the following categories: mechanical equipment, paper, toys and education / entertainment. With the submission, each of the brands can be used in up to 128 different services, including video games.
There is no further information on whether ‘Ever Crisis’ and ‘The First Solider’ are strictly related to video games. The first keyword does bring two games in the composition of Final Fantasy VII series: Before the crisis and Crisis core. ‘The First Soldier’ probably refers to Shinra’s elite fighting force of super soldiers. Notable members of Soldier are Angeal, Genesis, Sephiroth and Zack. The final trademark for Shinra’s logo may be for commercial purposes, but there is no additional information.
With the success of Final Fantasy VII RemakeSquare Enix has suggested it has big plans for the second installment in its new series. Final Fantasy VII Remake is now available on the PlayStation 4. Part 2 is currently in development.
