There are a lot of wireless headphones out there, and that means there is a lot of competition for your headphone dollars. In CNET’s latest the best wireless headphonesDavid Carnoy has put together a real trophy case with amazing headphones like the Sony WH-1000XM4, Apple AirPods Max and Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700. But while they are all worthy audio equipment, it also costs a small fortune – as much as $ 550 for the AirPods Max. If you want solid sound quality at a much more mundane price, consider the JBL E55BT, which currently costs only $ 50.
The JBL E55BT wireless over-the-head headphones are very tough. They debut in 2017 and currently list for $ 150, but are lower until March 28 (the best price I could get elsewhere on this headphone was $ 82 at Amazon). These headphones are attractively styled without paying too much attention to themselves, and you get 20 hours of battery life and solid Bluetooth audio performance. In David Carnoy’s review of the JBL E55BT he said they offer a “fairly dynamic sound, but [it] falls short of the richer, more refined sound you’ll find with much higher-end Bluetooth headphones. “His conclusion was that they delivered a solid sound and a comfortable price for the price. Third of the original price, it’s indeed a good deal.
What will you not get? Active noise suppression, which was not a table interest in 2017 as it is today. But if you can live without it, here are a good pair of good quality headphones at a cheap basement price.
