The Civil Guard disarmed in an operation in the province of Cadiz an organization introducing in Spain fake alcoholic beverages from three markets, with a total of 24 detainees and investigators and more than 225,000 bottles of ron falsified interventions, valuations in 3.5 million euros.
According to this investigation, the empramado empresarial produces the liquor in the Dominican Republic, lo embotellaba in Honduras and is rotated with falsified Chinese procedural labels.
The genus falsified llegaba a España proceedings of fiscal deposits located in the Netherlands and, one time here, is commercialized with Spanish distributors, of which it has acted on 21 in the provinces of Córdoba, Badajoz, Valencia, Málaga, Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Navarre, Bilbao and Huelva.
The investigations, carried out in the “Hitsmo” operation, began in February 2019 when the Civil Guard detected an establishment of the province of Cadiz, dedicated to the sale by the mayor of alcoholic beverages, a party of bottles of ron that Parisian falsified.
It has carried out tests of its authenticity with faulty perits of the affected brand and by the Civil Guard Criminal Justice Laboratory, confirming that counterfeit bottles were being processed.
From here, the agents detect a business venture that, approving the legal procedures instituted, introduced, the Travels Bajos, in the Spanish tax deposits are these forgeries, the level of perfection that facilitates the fiscal controls.
These products are finally available in different establishments dedicated to the sale by the mayor and at least distributing the alcohol throughout Spain.
Fraud in Spain
The Civil Guard contacted the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), which allowed the intervention of 147,000 counterfeit ron bottles in a fiscal deposit of the Netherlands that is ten as the final destination Spain.
As all documented intervention, the Honduran authorities intervened in Puerto Cortés (Honduras) loaded containers of ron falsified with an estimated value in the European market of 500,000 euros, which has been introduced by the same stockings in Europe.
The Civil Guard has investigated 50 Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch companies, in conjunction with OLAF’s collaboration on international action.
The operation was carried out by civilian guards belonging to the Office of Analysis and Tax Investigation of the port of Cádiz, with the support of the Chiclana Company of the Front, with occasional operational support and different moments of the investigation of a number of Civil of all Spain.
