COLUMBIA, SC As first announced on November 21, the Department of Health and Environmental Control in South Carolina (DHEC) will not report daily COVID-19 numbers on New Year’s Day. Data to be reported January 1 will be available online the next day.
While DHEC will also be keeping daily COVID-19 updates on the agency’s website on January 2, 2021, the same information provided at scdhec.gov/COVID19 will no longer be reported in a duplicate news release. DHEC will publicly announce on social media platforms when the webpage for the day has been updated with new COVID-19 data. The exact information presented in the daily news release is available on the COVID-19 main page which will be updated daily.
DHEC will continue to issue news reports with the release of new and important information on the state’s COVID-19 response and will continue to keep South Carolinians informed of the most recent and factual information. For the latest COVID-19 vaccine information, visit scdhec.gov/vaxfacts.

Percent positive (scdhec.gov/COVID19dashboard)
- 10 369 individual test results were reported nationwide yesterday (antibody tests were not included)
- 31.2% percent positive
