Golden State Warriors rookie center James Wiseman tore the meniscus in his right knee and could miss the rest of the season, sources told ESPN.
Wiseman, the overall No. 2 in the NBA draft in 2020, underwent imaging on Sunday due to an injury sustained Saturday night. Further consultation with doctors is expected to lead to a plan of action on the injury and a timeline for return, sources told ESPN.
Wiseman, 20, suffered the injury in the second quarter of Saturday’s win over Houston when he stepped up for a dunk and ended up uncomfortable after Rockets forward Kenyon Martin Jr.
Wiseman averages 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 21 minutes per game this season. He missed three weeks with a wrist injury in February.
