Free agent Liam Hendriks and the Chicago White Sox agree on a multi-year agreement, pending a physical case, sources told Jeff Passan, ESPN.
The deal lasts three years and includes a fourth option option and guarantees Hendriks $ 54 million, sources said.
Hendriks, 31, will earn $ 39 million in the first three years, and the buyout and fourth-year options salary is $ 15 million, sources said. If the White Sox reject the option, they will be able to pay the buyout for a number of years.

Hendriks, who became a free agent last month when Oakland Athletics did not make a qualifying offer, has been one of the most effective relievers in baseball for the past two seasons, finishing second in the ERA (1.6), the fourth place in WHIP (0.87), third in the elimination ratio (7.2) and tied for eighth in the save (39).
He ended the 2020 season with an ERA of 1.78 and an MLB second 14 save in 15 occasions, followed by a win, a save and an ERA of 3.18 in the post-season.
The Australian Lightweight achieved his best career last season with a 12.3 knockout ratio and 13.1 heats per nine overs and was the Lightweight of the Year in the American League.
Hendriks became an important piece for Bob Melvin, manager of A, during the 2019 season. The right-hand man, who earned $ 2.15 million in 2019, is the former opener who has become reliable. He won 4-4 with a 1.80 ERA and 25 saves over a career-high 75 games that stretched over 85 overs, reaching the All-Star team for the first time. He turns 32 on February 10.
