Sources – Buffalo Bills OC Brian Daboll is a favorite to get the Los Angeles Chargers’ head coaching job

Offensive coordinator Buffalo Bills coordinator Brian Daboll is a favorite to win the Los Angeles Chargers’ head coaching job, according to league sources.

Daboll is one of nine candidates interviewed for the post. The Chargers are planning the next steps in their process, which will be affected by the outcome of the playoff game between Ravens and Bills on Saturday night.

If the bills lose, Daboll can meet the Chargers whenever he wants and accept their coaching job if offered. If the Bills win, the Chargers will have to wait until Daboll finishes the post-season before negotiating.

Daboll fits many of the qualities the Chargers are looking for in their next head coach. He is an offensive coach, who has learned among the best coaches of all time, and has helped increase the game and production of Josh Allen, Bills. Daboll will be expected to do the same as flyhalf Justin Herbert in Los Angeles.

On top of that, there is a great notoriety. Daboll, along with Tom Telesco, general manager of Chargers, went to St. Louis High School. Francis in Buffalo. The two played in the same high school football team, with Daboll two degrees behind Telesco. Daboll was a hard sleeper and Telesco was a wide receiver and cornerback.

Both men have followed different paths in Buffalo since their time. Daboll learned his trade at the feet of Bill Belichick in New England and Nick Saban in Alabama before returning to Buffalo, where he helped break the Bills to become one of the best in the league.

Telesco is from St. Francis down to learn under former Colts general manager Bill Polian before tackling Chargers general manager.

Now Daboll and Telesco can once again be teammates on the opposite coast in Los Angeles, still trying to win together.
