The Boston Red Sox have signed a two-year, $ 14 million deal with Enrique Hernandez, sources told Jeff Passan, ESPN, on Friday.
Originally acquired as part of a seven-player deal with the Miami Marlins in December 2014, Hernandez has been a major gear for the Los Angeles Dodgers for the past six years because of his infectious energy, defensive versatility and left-handed production. .
Hernandez (29) has a career of 0.240 / .313 / .425, which makes him slightly below the league average, but he can offer an excellent defense as a midfielder and in the outfield. From 2016 to 2020, Hernandez compiled 5.7 FanGraphs tips above the replacement.
One of his biggest highlights with the Dodgers came in October when he won the game in the 7th game of the National League Championship Series.
