Source – Tom Brady, QB of Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will undergo minor knee surgery during the off-season

TAMPA, Fla. Tampa Bay Buccaneers full-back Tom Brady will undergo minor surgery on his knee this offseason, a source told ESPN.

The upcoming operation was first reported by the Tampa Bay Times.

A source close to the situation told ESPN that it was not a recent injury and that Brady, who led the Bucs to a win in Super Bowl LV last Sunday, had been planning the procedure for months.

Brady was not listed in the Bucs’ injury report all season. He was mentioned in the report as ‘not related to injuries’, when Bruce Arians, coach Bruce Arians, gave a handful of Fridays, something the Bucs also did with Rob Gronkowski, Ndamukong Suh and other veteran players.

Brady wore a brace on his left knee during the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl parade on Wednesday. But this is not uncommon for the 43-year-old Brady, but he also wears it during golf and during other recreational activities.

Brady was named Super Bowl MVP for the fifth time in his career on Sunday after hitting 201 yards and three touchdowns in Tampa Bay’s 31-9 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

With the win, Brady has more Super Bowl titles (seven) than any franchise in NFL history, winning the sixth each the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots have won. Brady also became the only player with five Super Bowl MVPs; Joe Montana is second with three.
