Source – Jared Veldheer to sign with Green Bay Packers after the Indianapolis Colts wild card game begins

GREEN BAY, Wis. Jared Veldheer saved the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs last year, and he was able to do it again this year – and would make NFL history in the process.

The veteran attacking attack will sign with the Packers, a source told Adam Schefter, ESPN, on Monday. In a move that comes just days after the 33-year-old was on the left pack for the Indianapolis Colts in their playoff game against the Buffalo Bills.

Veldheer would be the first player in NFL history to play post-season games for two different playoff teams in the same season if he appeared in the Packers’ NFC division game against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday.

He may sign at Green Bay because he was in the Colts ‘training group and was only promoted to the Colts’ playoff game on Saturday and was not selected in the 53-man squad. In addition, he should be allowed to practice immediately because he was in the Colts’ COVID-19 Test program.

Veldheer started the right tackle for the Packers in last year’s NFC Division playoff game over the Seattle Seahawks due to the illness of Bryan Bulaga. The Packers lured Veldheer out of his pension and signed him in November 2019.

The Colts closed Veldheer out of another retirement group last month.

The Packers lost left-back David Bakhtiari in a torn ACL in practice until the final season. They started Billy Turner on the left handle in Bakhtiari’s place and put Rick Wagner on the right handle.

Veldheer will probably be the best backup package for the play-off match, but Wagner suffered a knee injury and did not take part in any of the exercises during the farewell last week.

It is also possible that the Packers are considering starting Veldheer at one of the packing places and then moving Turner back to his primary position, right guard, from last season – the place that would be partly responsible for blocking Rams All -Pro’s defense suit Aaron Donald.
