During the Epic Game Store Spring Showcase last week, we saw a brand new trailer for the upcoming game Oddworld: Soulstorm. This time, the developers decided to show a little more of the game, as we’ll see how things will play out this time. These are mostly small pieces with a developer talking about the top of the content, and the video really is not more than a minute long about what we can see. But we get a better idea of how the crafting system will work in the game, and how you can use the people who free you from your species to work with you to make the levels beat much easier. Enjoy the trailer and information about the game below as we are still waiting for the company to give a release date after ‘spring 2021’.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is the bigger, worse, braver action-adventure platform sequel to the famous video game series, and the explosive second installment in the evolution of a revolution. You play as Abe, the reluctant Mudokon hero who accidentally sparked an uprising and now has to lead his fellow Mudokons in their fight for freedom against the Magog cartel and the power of the planet. Abe will struggle to survive against the ruling and well-funded power of the planet. They are armed with all manner of oppression, from propaganda to biological to ruthless lethal power. Explore massive movie scale and 2.9D environments filled with breathtaking footage. Search for supplies, make weapons, arm your followers, solve puzzles and safely release all of Abe’s 1000 followers.

  • Action adventure platform: Developing the platform genre by adding RPG lite elements to the player agency to play as they please, whether aggressive or passive.
  • Narration: A dark storyline with a twisted sense of humor that shines the irony that exists in the human condition.
  • 2.9D: Epic large-scale environments to explore by entering the world, rather than being confined to the traditional sense-shifting platform sense.
  • Quarma (think Karma): Quarma is a real-time feedback feature that reflects your actions in the game and your actions will affect the outcome of the game.
  • Scavenger’s Economy: Pickpocket enemies, outer cabinets, sift through trash cans to obtain resources. Swap it at vending machines to get products that give you more attention to the way you chose to overcome the game’s many challenges.
  • Crafts: Use removed resources and sales products to manufacture products to use as weapons or tools against characters and obstacles.
  • Strength in numbers: The more followers you save, the stronger the revolt. Gift-made items to followers. You have to decide if they will be aggressive or passive.
  • Games: A 2.9D action-adventure platform. The first time is 15 hours. Performance hunters and perfectionists can easily play for tens of hours.
  • Rankings: All levels provide a system, rankings, achievements and badges.
