Kingdom Hearts’ Sora has long been a fan-favorite candidate for a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter. For those who can not wait to see if he is added, a new mod the players can finally choose the Disney Square protagonist.
Sora is one of the most popular characters in all of the games, bridging the worlds of Final Fantasy and Disney with the Kingdom Hearts franchise. As such, he achieved an incredibly high score in Smash Ultimate fighter voices, with fans wanting to see him battle it out with other big players like Mario, Link, Sonic, Solid Snake and more.
While he has yet to come to Smash – and it is unlikely he will ever be – the talented mud ‘mastaklo’ has made one of the best fighting modes to date that will eventually bring the character to Smash.
Everything about Sora looks like it totally matches his Kingdom Hearts look, with the Keyblade sword, shorts, hair and shoes. So if you have a sticker for visual perfection, you are in luck.

This may be the only way Sora is ever added to Smash.
As for the game, the mod uses Shulk’s move set and was originally teased in a leak from December 2020. As Dexerto reported earlier, images of the mod were posted on a message board claiming that Sora would come to Smash.
Mastaklo told Dexerto that a friend, to whom he had sent an early model of the mod, finally posted the photos.
When you can download the mod, mastaklo will allow its Patreon fans early access, but it will be available to everyone from February 19th.
Unfortunately, everyone who hopes that Sora will come to Smash should not get hope. Imran Kahn, a former senior editor of Game Informer, recorded that Disney Japan prevented Nintendo from adding the character to Smash, and it’s likely we got Sephiroth instead.
Anyway, at least for now, fans can finally find a way to use Sora in Smash – just think of him as a Shulk Echo fighter. Who knows, however; with three more DLC packages still coming in Fighters Pass Volume 2, it’s always possible for Sora to go to Ultimate in a more official capacity.
