First of all, how dare you, Sony.

In an interview apparently about their new movie Cherry, Tom Holland and Anthony and Joe Russo, or the Russo brothers addresses the previously unseen spider in the room: Tom Holland was not exactly the Spider man According to the Russos, Sony wanted. With great power comes great responsibility and according to the Russo brothers, Sony was not sure to accept the specific responsibility.

In the interview with British Headquarters, the Russo brothers told us how to fight for us patron saint of pampering.

“We talked to Feige at Marvel about Holland and he was excited and then we went to Sony …” Joe explains. And they were like, ‘Let’s think about it for a moment. “We could see that we were meeting resistance from Sony. So we brought [Holland] back, brought him back, brought him back, and we were ruthless in our quest to bump him in the throat of the studio that owns this IP. It came down to a fight, but still Sony just kept dragging its feet … they were reluctant, nervous to release something that could end up costing them hundreds of millions of dollars, if not billions of dollars.

But the rest is history. Sony has withdrawn their feet and now we are approaching our third Tom Holland Spider-Man movie.
